For the first time in six years, Sony won't be putting on a show for the international media at Gamescom in Germany this summer — it's refocusing on Paris Games Week in October instead.

This is notable for developers because Sony claims to be feeling crunched by the shrinking gap between E3 in mid-June and Gamescom in early August; A company representative told GameSpot that "both PlayStation and the wider industry would benefit from a major news milestone later in the year." Come from 291bet

Thus, the company has rescheduled its international media briefing for October 27th during Paris Games Week, an annual event launched in 2010 by French game industry trade group SELL that has since grown to be one of the  largest (in terms of number of attendees) game-focused trade shows in the world.

In years prior, Sony has used its big European show to do things like host discussion panels, sweet-talk indies and announce launch dates for the PlayStation 4.
